My focus in treatment is to improve how a client perceives and navigates life's challenges and transitions. I strive to help clients better understand their relationships, personal needs and abilities, and to identify options for achieving more control and direction in their lives. Further, I work to assist clients in processing thoughts, feelings, behaviors or attitudes that derail them from achieving their goals.
At times therapy work may include exploring a client's past in order to better understand how previous experiences or relationships influence the client's present life. Other times, the counseling work focuses directly on developing and/or expanding more adaptive coping skills in personal or work relationships.
